Central Coast Youth Club

On 23rd July 1958, Mr R.G. Maher. O.B.E. Chairman Of Central Coast Leagues Club held a public meeting to form the original Gosford Boys Club. About 40 people attended, Mr Ron Dibben was voted inaugural President, Mr Bernie Drew Secretary with Mr Frank Kevin Treasurer. Those in attendance were R. Peters, J. Boardman, J. Dunnage, W. Ford, J. Mumford, W.McDougall, F.Kevin, A. Sullivan, C. Cook, L. Cronk, B. D. Rew and E. Craft.
Central Coast Leagues Club voted to sponsor the Gosford Boy's Club. The club's first classes were held at Legacy House Donnison St. Gosford and the club colours were green & gold.

In May 1959 a constitution of Gosford Boys Club was adopted with a membership of sixty. In August 1959 a Gosford Girls Club was formed with a membership of twelve. These two clubs amalgamated in September 1960 when the club finally moved into the old Central Coast Leagues Club building in Georgiana Terrace. The move saw a name change from the Gosford Boys and Girls Club to the Central Coast Youth Club.

1962 Mr Bob Young (NSW Trampoline Champion) appointed full time gym instructor
1963 Four Football teams from Youth Club entered into local competition
1963 Surf Club formed by Bryce Norman and Jim Harper and conducted at Avoca Beach
1963 Mr Fred Austine appointed full time gym instructor after Mr Young resigns
1963 Baseball Club formed by Mick Brennan
1973 Record 60 basketball teams nominated for competition. An electronic scoreboard installed
1976 Rowing Club formed by ex-oarsmen and women from Grafton, Balmain, Haberfield, Drummoyne and Sydney Clubs as well as local identities. Several sites around Brisbane Water were inspected but due to community objections a suitable site was not found. However the club continued to prosper with an official opening of the club in March 1978 at the Festival of the Waters when the existing fleet was christened.

1977 Youthline introduced and conducted by Graham Ellis
1978 Softball Club formed by Joy Morris
1979 Jan Scott made history when she was the first female elected to the management board
1979 Gosford District Amateur Basketball Referees Association formed. John Payne one of finest referees of his time officiated at many National games.
1980 Mr Ted Senior appointed as second full-time instructor
1980 Mr John Monie resigns to take up coaching position as Parramatta Rugby League coach
1980 Mr Brian Austine appointed full-time instructor
1981 Tennis coaching classes formed under guidance of Mr Brian McMahon and Mr David Graham
